Russian version

The idea to create an aircraft similar to "Bella" aircraft came into being in 1987. In the years from 1989 to 1994 after conducting some scientific research work, the prototype of this aircraft was constructed. Within the next two years factory bench tests were held, and then the first stage of flight tests was carried out: high-speed runs and approaches under the conditions close to real - a snow-covered field, a frozen river-bed, river bottomland in summer.

In 1996 after finishing all the necessary work of the first stage flight tests the project was put on hold due to the lack of financing.

All the design and research work was done by MS (candidate of technical science) Mr. Filimonov A.I., the author of the project and an expert in the field of designing aircrafts with vertical takeoff and landing, and a group of designers including one DS ( doctor of technical science) on aerodynamics and 14 MSs (candidates of technical science) in the field of aircraft design and aerodynamics.

In addition the following companies participated in this project:
- Company " Ecotrans", Tyumen - organizer and head of the project;
- Moscow aviation institute, Moscow - experimental research in wind tunnels;
- Mil design bureau, Moscow - developer of powerplants;
- SMC(State Missile Center) Miass, Chelyabinsk oblast - supplier of glassifiber sheets for fuselage manufacturing;
- "D and D" company, Moscow - propeller supplier;
- "Bombardier - Rotax", Austria - supplier of aviation engines;
- Aircraft repair factory No. 26, Tyumen - delivery and installation of electric equipment and devices;
- Siberian scientific research institute of aviation, Novosibirsk - technical survey and flight authorization.

- The Russian Federation vast territories made it necessary to find the best ways to optimize and increase the efficiency of services in freight and passenger transportation by reducing direct operating costs and improving the quality of services provided, taking under consideration the development of new regional air routes.

- Ensuring the effectiveness in solving the tasks put before a number of the State bodies and institutions (Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Federal Border Service, etc.) in transportation of cargoes and passengers to remote, hard to reach places in the shortest time possible and in emergency situations.

- These multipurpose and multimode aircrafts can be used in various branches of the national economy: in agricultural aviation for field pollination, in forestry for suppression of forest fires, in transportation of cargoes and passengers, in emergency medical help, in geological prospecting, in extracting industries, in mail delivery, in developing of oil and gas fields for monitoring, arrangement, delivery of cargoes, repairing of pipelines and so forth.

- Use of these aircrafts would greatly ease the problems of northern delivery of goods for the remote settlements. They may as well be useful for tourist industry in developing of new routes, delivery of passengers to some remote wild life sanctuaries, for hunting facilities.

- It is hard to overestimate the advantage of this flying device for its help in liquidation of emergency situations of natural and technogenic character, for action coordination of various structures at performing a unified job, for ecological monitoring.

Thus, the goal of this project was to get the widest coverage of all the spectrum of human activities: state, commercial, professional as well as to increase operational efficiency.
